About Me

Dr. Tom Coleman has been in pastoral ministry since 1980, coming to Pennsylvania in June of 1989 to serve as the senior pastor of the Calvary Independent Baptist Church of Huntingdon, PA. After 29 years of service, Dr. Coleman stepped aside in August of 2018. He then served as an interim pastor at Berean Bible Fellowship in Unionville, PA until July 2020. He now resides in Travelers Rest, SC, where he maintains an active interest in local church ministry and pulpit supply.

Coleman is a 1976 graduate of Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC, where he also earned a Master of Arts in Bible (1978) and a PhD in New Testament Interpretation (1982).

Immediately prior to coming to Pennsylvania, he served on the pastoral staff of the Bethel Baptist Church of Schaumburg, IL, where he was also the Director of the Schaumburg Bible Institute.

Throughout his ministry, Dr. Coleman has also been involved in Christian Education, most recently serving on the board of the Keystone Christian Education Association (KCEA), headquartered in Harrisburg, PA, for 25 years (1993-2018) and as President for 16 years (2002-2018). Dr. Coleman continues to serve with KCEA as a part-time support staffer. He is also a past President of the Central Pennsylvania Fundamental Preacher's Association.

He and his wife, Becky, have three children: James, who resides in Greenville, SC and works for Braintree (a subsidiary of PayPal) as a software developer, Ruth Ann, a full-time missionary with Baptist Mid-Missions in Honduras, and John who resides in Perrysville, IN and works for Heritage Petroleum.

Coleman’s hobbies include shooting, hunting, and fishing.
